Nova Sea is keen to sponsor and support associations, societies and activities within our production area. A local presence and kinship with local communities has always been a key aspect of the company’s philosophy, and will continue to be so going forward.

Each year, therefore, we distribute up to NOK 1 million to various good causes and projects along the Helgeland coast. Below, you will find further details of the criteria applications must fulfil, and how you can submit an application to us.

Applicant criteria

Nova Sea sponsors the day-to-day operation of sports clubs, associations and voluntary organisations, as well as specific projects they may wish to arrange. Our sponsorship funding is intended to boost active engagement in our production area.

Local roots

We want the projects we support to have roots in the local communities in which Nova Sea operates. Nova Sea has operations along the entire Helgeland coast, from Vega in the south to Gildeskål in the north. We therefore wish to divide our financial support evenly between our local communities.

Active engagement

Sponsorships are intended to help create a diverse and inclusive range of cultural, sporting and voluntary activities in Nova Sea’s local communities. We want our funding to help boost active engagement along the coast.

Children and young people

When allocating funds, we give priority to projects or initiatives aimed at children and young people. Because children and young people are the future for our local communities, we want to support low-threshold initiatives that help to boost inclusion and wellbeing – and perhaps persuade those who have moved away to come back home.

Profiling of Nova Sea

In return for funding, we ask sponsorship recipients to highlight their link with Nova Sea. This is because it is important for Nova Sea not only to show the company’s engagement in the local community, but also to bring Nova Sea’s activities to the attention of a wider audience.

Deadlines 2023

We process applications received four times a year. Submit your application well in advance of the deadline to be sure that it is processed before the funds are needed.
